DESCRIPTION:This event is the fifth annual cpd25 event designed for those w
 ho supervise staff\, services or both.\n\nThe Audience: Senior Library Ass
 istants\, Information Services Supervisors\, Library Assistants\, Informat
 ion Assistants (or their equivalent). \n\nFollowing on from the previous s
 uccessful events\, the day will enable participants to discover some of th
 e current developments in HE libraries and how they may impact on both a l
 ocal and fundamental level. The day’s overall theme is around the change
 s to activities seen as quintessentially ‘library’.\n\nProgramme: \n\n
 9.30-10.00: Coffee and registration\n\n10.00-10.30: Keynote speech Angus B
 rown (User Services\, Imperial College)\n\n10.30-10.45: Break\n\n10.45-12.
 30: Visits Birkbeck/Senate House\n\n12.30-13.30: Lunch\n\n13.30-14.15: The
 med breakouts\n\n14.15-14.30: Tea and cakes\n\n14.30-15.15: Themed breakou
 ts\n\n15.15-16.00: Closing & feedback - Antony Loveland\, Head of Library 
 Services\, Central School of Speech & Drama.\n\nThe breakout sessions will
  involve attendees working in small groups to discuss the following develo
 pments:\n\n* Ditching the desk\n* Automatic renewals\n* Paperless future\n
 \nThe feedback from each group will be arranged so as to be quick\, painle
 ss and efficient – in keeping with the tone of the event.\n\nSpeaker Det
 ails:\n\nAngus Brown\nAngus Brown currently leads user services\, marketin
 g (including the library website) and enquiry and disability support at Im
 perial College London. Previously\, he worked in a number of roles at King
 s’ College London\, including cataloguer\, issue desk supervisor and rea
 ders advisor (Life sciences and medicine). Angus’s first library job was
  as library assistant in Aberdeen Public Libraries where he worked at both
  branch and mobile libraries. Angus is a member of M25 Consortium of Acade
 mic Libraries Steering Group\, the SCONUL Focus Editorial Board and has a 
 particular interest in library spaces and design.\n\nAntony Loveland\nAnto
 ny is a Chartered Librarian who has been working in HE libraries for over 
 12 years. He is currently Head of Library Services at the Central School o
 f Speech and Drama\, where he is responsible for the strategic planning an
 d operational delivery of the service. He has also been a member of cpd25 
 since 2003 and took over as its Chair in 2011.\n\nVenue: The Hardy Room at
