SUMMARY:Applying to study Library and Information Science [TG1/LIS]
DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;\n\nAre you interested in becoming an information profes
 sional? This event brings together a range of speakers to inspire you and 
 give you an insight into the experience of “going to Library School”.\
 n\nAimed predominantly at those working in libraries who are interested in
  gaining formal qualifications and learning about various career paths wit
 hin the industry\, the day will consist of presentations from a wide range
  of industry professionals at various stages of their studies and careers.
 \n\nAt lunch time\, there will be a course fair with opportunities to meet
  representatives from some of the main UK courses. It's a great networking
  opportunity\, giving you the chance to meet with peers and get answers to
  any questions you have about the whole process. During the day\, you will
  be able to hear from recently qualified professionals and a panel of curr
 ent LIS students.\n\nProgramme:\n09:30-10:00 – Registration and tea/coff
 ee\n10:00-13:00 – Morning session:\n\nHannah Fogg\, Assistant Director: 
 Customer Services\, ARU\nSpeaking on her career journey and an insight on 
 how the qualification can help new professionals.\n\nPresentations from a 
 range of course providers\, including:\n\nStephen Pinfield\, University of
  Sheffield\nVanda Broughton\, Emeritus Professor\, Department of Informati
 on Studies\, UCL\nLyn Robinson\, Head of Dept. Library &amp\; Information 
 Science\, City\, University of London\nLisa Gardner (recent graduate) Ulst
 er University\n\n13:00–14:30 – Lunch and Course Fair\nStalls from LIS 
 courses and a chance to meet other delegates\n\n14:30–16:30 – Afternoo
 n session:\n\nQualified professionals will talk about their experience aft
