SUMMARY:Applying to study Library and Information Science [TG1/LIS]
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in becoming an information professional? Thi
 s event brings together current and recent students to give you an insight
  into the experience of “going to Library School”. During this 90 minu
 te online workshop\, you will get a chance to ask questions of recently qu
 alified professionals and current LIS students. This event is aimed predom
 inantly at those working in libraries who are interested in gaining formal
  qualifications. The aim of this event is to allow you get to an honest vi
 ew from current and recent students of their experience.\n\nProgramme  -

 l:\n\nGemma Pearce\, Head of Library Service\, private school\n\nGemma ini
 tially trained and worked as a primary school teacher. She worked as a Cus
 tomer Service Assistant for 1 year in a public library before moving to Li
 brary Manager in a state school for 2 years. Gemma studied fulltime for 1 
 year at UCL where she gained a Library and Information Studies Masters deg
 ree. She is now Head of Library Service in a private school.\n\nHannah Sta
 geman\, Anglia Ruskin\n\nHannah Stageman is a Customer Services Supervisor
  at ARU and has worked in HE\, FE and public libraries over the last 13 ye
 ars in customer services roles. She has an BA (Hons) in Fine Art and MA in
  Art History and Theory. Her other day job is an artist. Currently studyin
 g for a MA in Library and Information Studies at Aberystwyth University.\n
 \nKatherine Day\, UCL\n\nKatie Day is an Assistant Librarian at Godolphin 
 and Latymer School\, a Library Assistant at the Bodleian Libraries (previo
 usly a graduate trainee)\, and a second-year UCL Master's student - a lot 
 at once! She can particularly speak to this\, and also to adjusting to a n
 ew education system – she went to the States for undergrad\, and it's ve
 ry different in style. In the field\, she is interested in Critical Inform
 ation Literacy\, UX\, and diversity and accessibility.\n\nAimee Andersen\,

 n\nCost\n£10.00 members\n£15.00 for other institutions.\n\nCancellations
  less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fe
