 5 Aspects programme\, aimed at library staff looking to acquire additional
  skills and knowledge or staff working towards Chartership.\nJoin our annu
 al Director’s Cut event where you get the chance to learn the career jou
 rney of one of our library directors. You can learn something about what i
 t takes to get into senior management in libraries. With this event\, we h
 ope to inspire those who wouldn’t normally see themselves as a leader in
  our profession.\nIn this session\, Masud Khokhar will take the attendees 
 on a personal leadership development journey. Masud will talk about how li
 braries run in his DNA and the difficult move from a computer science care
 er to libraries. He will take the audience through his accidental career j
 ourney in libraries\, starting as a library assistant to becoming the firs
 t ethnic minority Russell Group Director of a library service\, all within
  the span of 10 years. Masud will also talk about the challenges he faced\
 , the leadership lessons he learned\, the skills he developed to progress\
 , and the navigation tactics he used to convert difficulties into opportun
 ities. Masud will also talk about his radical candour approach towards wor
 k\, the struggle with imposter syndrome\, the process for being an institu
 tional and sectoral leader\, and finally\, how he approached the developme
 nt of a bold and ambitious vision for libraries at the University of Leed
 s. Attendees will not only learn about the career path Masud took\, but al
 so the process that is involved in developing a strategic vision for libra
 ries.\nSpeaker:\n\n\n\nMasud Khokhar is the University Librarian and Keepe
 r of the Brotherton Collection at the University of Leeds. A computer scie
 ntist by education\, and with libraries in his DNA\, Masud is passionate a
 bout digital leadership and innovation in the changing library and archive
  environments. His core interests include strategic development\, digital 
 transformation\, open research\, and inclusive leadership. Masud is also t
 he Vice-Chair of Research Libraries UK (RLUK) and a firm supporter of dive
 rsity embedded in our thinking and practice within libraries and collectio
