DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;\n\nThis workshop is part of the cpd25 Aspects programme
 \, aimed at library staff looking to acquire additional skills and knowled
 ge or staff working towards Chartership.\n\nLibrarians up and down the cou
 ntry share similar interests and often face similar challenges in their wo
 rk. But how do we ensure we share our expertise and experiences to benefit
  others? Some of us are members of local or national groups\, but often th
 is is limited to our immediate areas of work. How can we find out more abo
 ut the issues librarians are grappling with\, and how can we learn from co
 lleagues to improve our own practice?\n\nIn this event\, we will introduce
  speakers who have developed innovative ways to build that community of li
 brarians\, to give them a voice and share what they know with others. Afte
 r this event\, you might have thought of new ways to communicate your expe
 rtise.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nSpeakers:\n\nKa-Ming Pang\, University of Roehampton\
 n\nKa-Ming Pang has facilitated and organised numerous events related to p
 ersonal and professional developments in libraries and will share her expe
 rience and advice for making the most out of working in libraries.\n\nKa-M
 ing is an Academic Achievement Librarian at the University of Roehampton. 
 She has almost a decade’s experience in the library sector\, including i
 n public\, membership and HE libraries. She has a keen interest in fosteri
 ng opportunities for personal and professional development\, over the year
 s\, Ka-Ming has facilitated and co-organised a range of events over the ye
 ars such as\, #ukibchat\,  HASlibcamp\, Pi and Mash\, libteachmeets and m
 ore\n\nGaby Koenig &amp\; David Bennett (#uklibchat)\n\n#uklibchat is a m
 onthly group chat for anyone who works in libraries or information service
 s\, and people are also welcome to participate if they are just interested
  in libraries too. People can participate at any point in their career fro
 m students through to experienced workers post retirement if they wish! Ou
 r aim is to create a platform where LIS people can interact with each othe
 r\, share ideas and learn from each other. Gaby has worked in Public Libra
 ries for 16 years in a variety of roles\, and is based at Slough Borough C
 ouncil. David has had a career in FE and HE libraries.  He currently mana
 ges the Promotions Team at University of Portsmouth Libraries.\n\n&nbsp\;\
 n\nCost\n\n£50.00 members\n£75.00 non member institutions\n\nThis sessio
 n takes place alongside ASPECTS 9: Marketing Library Services\nIf an indiv
 idual is booked onto both sessions a 10% discount will be applied.\n\n&nbs
 p\;\n\nCancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a
  50% cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day\, the fu
