SUMMARY:ASPECTS 2: Gamification in Teaching [TG1/ASPECTS2_Gamification]
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is part of the cpd25 Aspects programme\, aimed at
  library staff looking to acquire additional skills and knowledge or staff
  working towards Chartership.\n\n\nGamification in Teaching\n\nGames and o
 ther forms of playful learning have become increasingly popular in informa
 tion literacy teaching. This introductory workshop will explore the value 
 of using games to encourage engagement\, interaction and reflection and sh
 are some practical examples of how digital and analogue games have been de
 veloped and used in academic libraries.\n\nThe facilitators will share the
 ir experiences of using games and other play related activities as a way o
 f enhancing information literacy teaching\, as well as in other contexts s
 uch as staff development programmes and promoting library services.\n\nDel
 egates will have the opportunity to try out games and activities and consi
 der how they might use similar techniques in their own teaching.\n\nWe hop
 e this event will be of interest to anyone interested in teaching or train
 ing within libraries\, and particularly to those working in or considering
  moving into Academic Liaison / Subject Librarian roles.\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n
