DESCRIPTION:Who should attend?\n\nThis event is aimed at those with an inte
 rest in the provision of library services for disabled people especially t
 hose with visual impairments\, and those who have responsibility for this 
 as part of their role.\n\nWhat will the event cover?\n\nThe event will hig
 hlight the service that JISC TechDis provides concerning technology for vi
 sually impaired people\, and will also highlight two case studies from aca
 demic libraries concerning their service provision for visually impaired p
 eople.\n\nSpeakers:\n\nPaul Conway\, Information Adviser and Accessibility
  Co-Ordinator\, Sheffield Hallam University.  \n\nPaul Conway is an Inform
 ation Adviser and Accessibility Co-ordinator at Sheffield Hallam Universit
 y.  Since 2003\, he has been a member of the Open Rose Group\, in which ca
 pacity he worked with Alistair McNaught on the JISC TechDis Guide to Obtai
 ning Textbooks in Alternative Formats.\n\nTeresa Pedroso\, Disability Libr
 arian\, Accessible Resources Unit\, Bodleian Libraries\, Oxford.\n\nTeresa
  has been involved with supporting disabled students in HE in a variety of
  ways for the past 6 years. At Oxford University\, Teresa is responsible f
 or coordinating the services that are provided for disabled readers across
  30 different sites.\n\nAlistair McNaught\, Senior Advisor for Further Edu
 cation\, JISC TechDIS Service\, York. \n\nAlistair works as a senior advis
 or in the JISC TechDIS service.  He has worked with many librarians in a r
 ange of contexts developing accessibility guidance for libraries and libra
 ry staff.  He is actively involved in the right to read alliance where he 
 was chair of the e-book working group.  He has worked closely with publish
 ers in developing the publisher look up website and research in the access
 ibility of major e-book platforms.  His current work with publishers is en
 couraging collation of good accessibility practice in the industry. \n\nOu
