SUMMARY:Career Development Day for Library and Information Assistants [TG1/
 CDD]
DESCRIPTION:This session is aimed at staff in Library and Information Assis
 tant roles who are looking to progress their career\, or perhaps change di
 rection. Other library staff may also find it useful if they are applying 
 for a new job.\n\nSession overview:\nThis one day course is perfect for an
 yone who is looking to apply for a new job. You will learn how best to com
 plete applications forms\, construct CVs and produce effective covering le
 tters. The session will also cover the interview process with practical ad
 vice on how to prepare for\, and be successful at\, interview. \n\nExpert 
 staff from Sue Hill Recruitment will be leading the morning sessions and t
 hey bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience in this area.\n\n
 Programme: \n\n9.30am: Arrival\, registration\, coffee\n\n10.00: Welcome a
 nd overview of the day\n\n10.10: What can you do? (Identifying your skills
 )\n\n10.45: Looking for a job\n\n11.00: The application process (forms & c
 overing letters)\n\n11.30: Break (tea and coffee)\n\n11.45: The applicatio
 n process continues with successful CVs\n\n12.30: Lunch\n\n1.30: The inter
 view process\n\n2.45: Break (tea and coffee)\n\n3.00: Closing thoughts\n\n
