DESCRIPTION:Free attendance for members of the M25 Consortium of Academic L
 ibraries\, £25 for non-members to attend.\n\ncpd25 is delighted to be hos
 ting this online event celebrating LGBT+ history month 2026. This event wi
 ll share LGBTQIA+ narratives in libraries/archives and hear from two speak
 ers about their work and interests in this space. It will also highlight s
 ometimes hidden voices in library and archives.\n\nProgramme:\n\n‘Prejud
 ice and Pride’ revisited - Dayna Miller\, Kingston University:\n\nIn Fe
 bruary 2025 Kingston University Archives and Special Collections held its 
 first LGBT History Month exhibition\, ‘Prejudice and Pride’. Using mat
 erials from several collections\, the display explored legal\, social and 
 literary aspects of LGBT+ history from the 1950s to the present day\, as w
 ell as the University’s own journey in supporting the LGBT+ community.\n
 \nThis presentation will look back at highlights of the exhibition and dis
 cuss some of the hidden voices extracted from the collections which even D
 ayna was unaware of until she began putting the display together. Followin
 g the success of the exhibition\, Dayna will talk about how the Archive ca
 n take these voices forward and the long-term plans needed for the Archive
  to ensure that they remain discoverable to all.\n\nDiscovering Lived LGBT
 Q+ Perspectives in Libraries &amp\; Archives - Ashleigh Green\, Goldsmiths
 \, University of London:\n\nThis talk will focus on discovering and sharin
 g the voices of the LGBTQ+ community held within library and archive colle
 ctions\, with a specific focus on Goldsmiths Special Collections and Archi
 ves and the 2024 LGBTQ+ Positive Voices exhibition.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nSpeakers
 : \n\nDayna Miller joined Library and Learning Services at Kingston Univer
 sity London in 2001\, taking over the role of Archivist in 2018. Her respo
 nsibilities include managing the long-term preservation of both institutio
 nal records and externally acquired archives and special collections. Dayn
 a facilitates access to the archive collections to support learning\, teac
 hing and research within the University and external institutions\, in par
 ticular the Iris Murdoch Research Centre at the University of Chichester. 
 Dayna also encourages outreach and engagement with archival materials by c
 urating free exhibitions throughout the year and making connections with c
 ommunity organisations such as U3A and local secondary schools.\n\nAshleig
 h Green (pronouns they/them) has worked in technical and systems services 
 roles in libraries for nearly 30 years. They spent over 20 years in pu
 blic libraries\, focused on cataloguing\, digital services and STEM/mak
 erspace activities. Since 2021 they have worked at Goldsmiths\, with resp
 onsibility for day-to-day library system work. They have also supported v
 arious LGBTQ+ initiatives within Goldsmiths Library and the University. In
  2024 they organised a library exhibition\, LGBTQ+ Positive Voices\, whic
 h highlighted positive and joyous perspectives of LGBTQ+ lives. This in
 cluded materials from Goldsmiths Special Collections and Archives\, as wel
 l as original creative works by more than 20 LGBTQ+ artists. Ashleigh
  has previously been co-curator for UK Web Archive LGBTQ+ Lives Online 
 project\, and they were also until recently a member of CILIP LGBTQ+ Net
 work Committee. \n\n&nbsp\;\n\nInformation for joining:\n\n 	This sessio
