SUMMARY:The Changes to the Disabled Students’ Allowance – what does it
mean for students\, universities and libraries? [Ref. TG2/DSA]
DESCRIPTION:Twitter – @cpd25_M25  #cpd25\n\nThe Disabled Students Allowa
nce is an important means of financial support for disabled students in En
gland and Wales. Changes to the DSA came into effect in September 2016\, m
oving away from individual DSA grants towards institutionally funded suppo
rt.\n\nIn this event\, we discover the rationale behind these changes and
how they have been implemented\, from both a university’s and a studen
t’s perspective. Librarians will explain how they have created and foste
red inclusive learning environments and there will be an interactive group
discussion designed to encourage you to think about how you and your inst
itution’s library can support disabled students more. Please bring along
ideas of your own or think about practice at your own institution\, both
good and bad.\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n Sara Osman\, Assistant Librarian (Access
