 many events on libraries and Web 2.0\, focuses on practical applications o
 f new technologies throughout the information life-cycle of students and o
 ther users. The day opens with a review of the current situation and futur
 e needs\, then looks at examples of how new technology can assist inductio
 n\, current awareness\, information literacy needs\, tailored and personal
 ised learning\, and sharing learning\, while the final speaker addresses t
 he potential of ongoing technological development for the way we offer lib
 rary services in the future.\n\nThe conference will be chaired by Jean Syk
 es\, Librarian and Director of IT Services\, LSE and Ian Snowley\, Preside
