cpd25's programme of ten two-hour workshops is devised primarily to suppor
t CILIP Chartership and ACLIP candidates. However\, many of the events in
the programme are highly relevant to staff working as Library Assistants\,

the myths surrounding the use of copyright content for educational purpos
es and outline permitted uses of copyright material in relation to both th
e analogue and digital environments.\n\nThrough a presentation and interac
tive scenario-based session\, participants will:\n\n• develop an underst
anding of the principles of copyright and statutory exceptions for educati
onal purposes and private research/study\n\n• gain knowledge information
on permitted uses of copyright material by staff and students under educa
tional copyright licensing\n\n• develop an awareness of the complexity o
f managing copyright in a digital environment and individual and instituti
onal liability for copyright infringement\n\nParticipants will also have t
he opportunity to pose questions on copyright issues in general and receiv
e guidance on best practice and are encouraged to bring questions based on
real life issues for discussion.\n\nVenue: Room LG39\, Maughan Library\,
 Kings College London http://www.kcl.ac.uk/iss/library/maughan.html\n\nPlea
