ncpd25's programme of ten two-hour workshops was devised primarily to supp
ort CILIP Chartership and ACLIP candidates. However\, many of the events i
n the programme are highly relevant to staff working as Library Assistants
\, Senior Library Assistants and so on. The events are aimed\, therefore\,
at all levels of lirary staff - who may or may not be seeking Certificati

intranets.\n\nThis session aims to break down the myths surrounding the u
se of copyright content for educational purposes and outline permitted use
s of copyright material in relation to both the analogue and digital envir
 onments.\n\nThrough a presentation and interactive scenario-based session\
, participants will:\n\n· develop an understanding of the principles of c
opyright and statutory exceptions for educational purposes and private res
earch/study\n\n· gain knowledge information on permitted uses of copyrigh
t material by staff and students under educational copyright licensing\n\n
 · develop an awareness of the complexity of managing copyright in a digit
al environment and individual and institutional liability for copyright in
fringement\n\n\n\nParticipants will also have the opportunity to pose ques
tions on copyright issues in general and receive guidance on best practice
and are encouraged to bring questions based on real life issues for discu
ssion. \n\n\nPlaces are available on the whole series (£140 for cpd25 mem
bers\, £190 for external organisations) or individual events (£25 for cp
d25\, £45 otherwise).\n\nMonique Ritchie (Copyright and Digital Resources
