5 Aspects programme\, aimed at library staff looking to acquire additional
skills and knowledge or staff working towards Chartership.\n\nThis event
will look at different aspects of roles dedicated to supporting research a
t all stages from entry level to senior manager level. This aims to demyst
ify an area of library provision which can appear mysterious as we are oft
en very focused on supporting our undergraduate students. At this event\,
we will hear from professionals involved in open access\, scholarly commun

investigate possible areas for new career development.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nSpeak

y of the Arts London: I trained as an illustrator at Camberwell College of
Art\, while studying I began working in the library. After graduating I s
tarted work as a Library Assistant at London College of Fashion. Working a
cross UAL Library Services has kept me close to the arts and enabled me to
support access to resources and information\, of which I am passionate ab
out. I completed a masters in Arts Policy and Management at Birkbeck\, spe
cialising in curation. I wanted to progress my Library Services career but
was unsure how to without being a Librarian. When a new role of Scholarly
Communications Assistant was advertised\, I realised I could bring elemen
ts of my masters and significant library experience to the position. Since
2018 I have worked in Scholarly Communications\, supporting researchers a
nd managing UAL’s online collection of research outputs on our digital r
epository UAL Research Online (UALRO).\n\nStephen Grace leads the team re

rly communications\, archives and research data management support. He has
worked in special\, public and academic library sectors for more than thr
ee decades including at King’s College London and the University of East
London. Interests in special collections and technology led to large digi
tisation projects\, and the realisation digital material needs preserving.
A digital preservation research project at King’s introduced colleagues
and work on research infrastructures including repositories. Stephen is s
till active in open access and is a member of Jisc’s Transitional Agreem

a professional interest which led to joining the Research Support Team at
Royal Holloway in 2015. Nicola manages the team which is responsible for
Open Research\, Open Access\, Research Data Management and scholarly commu
