DESCRIPTION:Directors and Heads of Service (from both within and without th
 e M25 Consortium) are invited to attend a Directors’ Briefing on IT Sec
 urity. Directors should feel free to send a deputy if unable to attend the
 mselves. \nIn recent years\, universities\, libraries and cultural instit
 utions have seen an increase in cyberattacks from criminals and other atta
 ckers.\nThese attacks include targeted ransomware attacks and attempts to 
 harvest user credentials for reuse\, but also attacks with no apparent aim
  other than to disrupt institutions’ networks and access. During the rap
 id move to online working during the Covid-19 pandemic\, attackers sought 
 to exploit weak points exposed in this new working environment.\nIn this D
 irectors’ Briefing\, our speakers will present on their own experience a
 nd reflections from dealing with cyberattacks at their own institutions\, 
 and the outlook for the future as cyberattacks become increasingly sophist
 icated and institutions seek to increase their resilience to attack.\nProg

 an one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.\nIn t
 he event of a ‘no-show’ on the day\, the full fee will be charged.\n\n
