 damentals\nYou use communication skills on a daily basis when in the work 
 place. Whether you’re talking to colleagues\, team members\, your boss o
 r a customer\, you need to be able to get your point of view across confid
 ently\, and get the outcomes you need to work effectively.\n\nInstinctivel
 y engaging the appropriate language\, tone of voice and body language in e
 ach of these different settings\, especially in difficult situations\, can
  take some practice.\n\nAt this workshop communications expert Wendy Smi
 th will cover the fundamental skills you need to be able to work professi
 onally with anyone and everyone you come in contact with. Wendy will cov
 er a broad range of techniques that will improve your overall portfolio of
  interpersonal skills.\nWhat you will learn about:\n\n 	Using and adjustin
 g your body language.\n 	Varying your tone to create impact with your voca
 l delivery.\n 	Using personal and public space to your advantage.\n 	The i
 mportance of listening and understanding.\n 	The power of paraphrasing.\n 
 	How to be assertive without being aggressive.\n 	Maximising your verbal i
 mpact with powerful words.\n\nFind out how to fine-tune and adapt your sty
 le in response to different situations\, and leave feeling confident in yo
 ur abilities.\n\nSpeaker:\n\nJournalist and trainer Wendy Smith has been r
 unning courses in Effective Communication skills for the last 20 years. St
 arting out with the Lancashire Cricket team Wendy has gone on to work with
  academics\, teachers\, tech start ups and design firms. Wendy has an MA i
 n Media and Communications\, a PGCE and coaching qualifications.\n\nVenue:
