DESCRIPTION:\n\nExploring the Utilisation of Data in Library Services: Inve
 stigating ways in which libraries can leverage the abundant data they gath
 er to elevate and refine their offerings.\n\n\n*THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL AND
  A WAITING LIST IS AVAILABLE*\n\n\nIn recent years there has been greater 
 emphasis on using data to inform decision making within the sector. Librar
 ies inherently excel at accumulating data\, yet where do we start at turni
 ng this wealth of information to our advantage? Data can serve as a tool f
 or future proofing our services and guiding decisions\, however it can be 
 quite an overwhelming task and often it's a struggle considering where to 
 start and can be a highly emotive subject for some.\n\nThis session will a
 ddress starting points\, collecting and analysing data\, creating a data c
 ulture within your service\, challenging assumptions\, maintaining trust w
 hile investigating data\, and ways to communicate your findings such as da
 ta visualisation. In addition to this there will be some case studies\, sh
 owcasing useful examples of changes implemented following data analysis.\n
 \nWe are delighted to have Sarah Maule Head of Library Innovation and Plan
 ning and Aqil Zahid Library Manager (Environment) from Queen Mary Universi

 \n\nSpeaker biographies:\n\nSarah Maule was appointed Head of Library Inno
 vation and Planning at Queen Mary\, University of London\, in October 2023
 . Prior to that she held a number of other senior roles within university 
 libraries . At University of Westminster\, she led on service improvements
 \, enhancing learning and research spaces\, and developing and leading a c
 entralised department for project management and strategic responsibility 
 for Library Services. At Ravensbourne University London she launched the U
 Ks first Material ConneXion materials library and launched a programme of 
 materials literacy within the arts and design institution.\n\nThroughout h
 er career in HE Sarah has been passionately encouraging new professionals 
 entering the profession\, and annually lecturers on leadership and career 
 development to UCL Masters students in Library and Information Studies. Sa
 rah was previously a member of the cpd25 Career Development Task Group and
  is currently the Treasurer of the International Conference of Performance
  Measurement in Libraries. She had a chapter published in 2022 on utilisin
 g data to meet students' needs and is devoted in ensuring libraries are in
 clusive and open to all.\n\nCost\n£25 members\n£50 non-members\n\nInform
