DESCRIPTION:Please note that this event is also advertised in the 'Professi
 onal Qualilfications Support Workshops' section of our events calendar.\n\
 ncpd25's programme of ten two-hour workshops was devised primarily to supp
 ort CILIP Chartership and ACLIP candidates. However\, many of the events i
 n the programme are highly relevant to staff working as Library Assistants
 \, Senior Library Assistants and so on. The events are aimed\, therefore\,
  at all levels of lirary staff - who may or may not be seeking Certificati
 on or Chartership\, but who wish to further their professional skills and 
 development.\n\nPlaces are available on the whole series (£140 for cpd25 
 members\, £190 for external organisations) or individual events (£25 for
  cpd25\, £45 otherwise).\n\nThe aim of the Introduction to Developing a S
 ervice workshop is to give participants an insight into the factors that i
 nform the strategic development of a library and information service in th
 e HE sector.  Topics covered will include:\n\nThe HE marketplace \nFinanci
 al considerations \nChanging student demographics \nLocal institutional fa
 ctors \nImpact of ICT \n\nSpeaker: Graham Bulpitt\, Director of Library Se
