DESCRIPTION:Please note that this event is also advertised in the 'Professi
 onal Qualifications Support Workshops' section of our events calendar. \n\
 ncpd25\\'s programme of ten two-hour workshops is devised primarily to sup
 port CILIP Chartership and ACLIP candidates. However\, many of the events 
 in the programme are highly relevant to staff working as Library Assistant
 s\, Senior Library Assistants and so on. The events are aimed\, therefore\
 , at all levels of library staff - who may or may not be seeking Certifica
 tion or Chartership\, but who wish to further their professional skills an
 d development.\n\nMarketing your Library Services is becoming an increasin
 gly important aspect of library work. At some point in your career you wil
 l asked to be involved in marketing part of your service\, be it a new ser
 vice development or just raising the profile of an underused service. The 
 aim of this Introduction to Marketing workshop is to give participants an 
 insight into key aspects of marketing within academic libraries. The works
 hop will be facilitated by Coral Black from Royal Holloway College\, Unive
 rsity of London and Angus Brown from Imperial College who will provide a b
 rief overview of marketing theory along with a case study from Imperial Co
 llege that the group will be able to discuss. The session will be interact
 ive with participants working in small groups on specific marketing plans.

 200 for external organisations) or individual events (£28 for cpd25 membe
