DESCRIPTION:This event is the fourth annual cpd25 event designed for those 
 who supervise staff\, services or both.\n\nThe audience: Senior Library As
 sistants\, Information Services Supervisors\, Library Assistants\, Informa
 tion Assistants (or their equivalent) in Higher Education institutions. \n
 \nFollowing on from the previous successful events\, the main aim and obje
 ctives are:\n\nAim:  \nTo explore ways for staff to keep an optimistic out
 look and proactive attitude in difficult economic times\n\nObjectives: \n*
  To explore the student perspective in higher education in 2011 \n\n* To e
 xchange views and experiences on how different services (cope/)perform in 
 difficult times\n\n* To network with colleagues from other services and to
  visit another service\n\nProgramme: \n\n13.30-14.00: Coffee and Registrat
 ion\n\n14.00-14.45: Keynote Speaker: Chris Dingle (Vice President Educatio
 n\, Kingston University Student Union)\, Introduction by Sue Clegg (Univer
 sity Librarian and Director of Learning Resources\, Roehampton University)
 \n\n14.45-15.45: Visit to one of the following academic libraries:\n\n* SO
 AS \n\n* School of Pharmacy \n\n15.45-16.00: Tea\, coffee & pastries\n\n16
 .00-16.30: Breakout sessions\n\n16.30-17.00: Reporting back and closing st
 atements. \n\nSue Clegg will be chairing this event. \n\nThe breakout sess
 ions will involve attendees working in small groups to discuss the followi
 ng questions:\n\n* How can you keep your team positive in negative times?\
 n\n* How can you help your department save money?\n\nThe feedback from eac
 h group will be arranged so as to be quick\, painless and efficient – in
  keeping with the tone of the event. \n\nVenue: The Hardy Room at the Lond

 rs and £155 for other institutions. \n\nCancellations less than one week 
 before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. In the event of a
  ‘no-show’ on the day\, the full fee will be charged.
