 , City University\n\nThis event is the first half of a day concentrating o
 n the principles that underpin blended learning.\n\nThe morning’s intera
 ctive event will focus on the support of learning\, especially:\n\n      H
 ow students\, including adult “returners???\, learn\n\n      Experientia
 l learning\, learning situations\, independent learning\n\n      Formulati
 ng realistic learning outcomes\n\n      The implications for e-learning\n\
 nAudience:\nHE and NHS library staff who are involved in or planning to de
 liver information literacy training or other forms of user education and s
 upport.\n\nThis session may be attended on a stand-alone basis\, in combin
 ation with the afternoon’s session: E-learning: tool not totality\, or a
 s a general introduction to the series of specialised learning and teachin
 g topics to be run later in 2004/05.\n\nAfternoon Session\nE-learning: too
 l not totality\n\nThis event forms the second half of a day concentrating 
 on the principles that underpin blended learning.\n\nThe afternoon’s eve
 nt will focus on practical applications of learning support\, including:\n
 \n      Face-to-face and written support of library users unfamiliar with 
 e-learning\n\n      E-learning resources: the potential of virtual learnin
 g environments for healthcare staff and an online learning programme in he
 alth informatics and knowledge management for health librarians\n\nFacilit
 ators and presenters will include:\n\n      Louise Doolan (Imperial Colleg
 e London)\n\n      Mary Last (University College London NHS Trust)\n\n    
   Angela Horrocks (Kingston University)\n\n      Anthea Sutton (The Folio 
 [Facilitated Learning as an Interactive Opportunity] Programme)\n\nAudienc
 e:\nHE and NHS staff who are involved in or planning to deliver informatio
 n literacy training or other forms of user education and support.\n\nThis 
 session may be attended on a stand-alone basis or in conjunction with the 
 morning’s session: Introduction to learning and teaching skills: the suc
 cessful support of e-learning.\n\nBooking:\nThis full day programme is off
 ered on a flexible format:\nEach half of the day can be attended as an ind
 ependent session or can be combined to make a full day\n\nCosts are:\n£60
 * for CPD25 members & NHS Libraries for both sessions\, lunch and refreshm
 ents are included\n£40 for CPD25 members & NHS Libraries for individual s
 essions including refreshments\n£100 for other institutions\, (whole day)
  including lunch and refreshments\n\n(* whole day can be booked as an Inst
 itutional place to be shared between two delegates)\n\nPlease note that th
 ere are 30 places available for this event\, which will be allocated on a 
 first-come-first-served basis. Bookings will close on the 5th November 200
 4 and any cancellations after that date will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
  In the event of a “no show??? on the day 100% cancellation charges will
  apply.
