DESCRIPTION:The London School of Hygiene &amp\; Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) i
 s renowned for its research\, postgraduate studies and continuing educatio
 n in public and global health.\n\nFounded in 1899\, today staff\, student
 s and alumni work in government\, academia\, international agencies and he
 alth services across the world.\n\nTheir outstanding\, diverse and committ
 ed staff make an impact where it is most needed - deploying research in re
 al time in response to crises\, developing innovative programmes for major
  health threats\, or training the next generations of public and global he
 alth leaders and researchers.\n\nLearn more about the history of the LSHTM
 \n\nThe primary role of the Library &amp\; Archives Service (LAS) is to su
 pport the School in its mission to improve health and health equity in the
  UK and worldwide. The Library &amp\; Archives Service seeks to provide ex
 cellent information-related services\, resources and support to the School
 ’s staff and students\, and also welcomes external researchers and visi
 tors who wish to consult its specialist collections.\n\nIt facilitates acc
 ess to a comprehensive collection of printed and electronic material in th
 e fields of public and global health\, and provides support for open acces
 s publishing within the School. The archives of the School date from the m
 id-nineteenth century and consist of correspondence and personal papers of
  scientific\, medical and global health professionals. The service also pr
 ovides a records management service and support for research data manageme
 nt within the School.\n\nThis visit is a great opportunity to see the LSHT
 M LAS team in action as well as see some of the interesting materials from
  the archive.\n\nBookings for visits are open to members of the M25 Consor
 tium of Academic Libraries only. \n\nTo reserve a space please use our on
 line booking form.\n\nIf subsequent to booking a place on a cpd25 visit yo
 u find that you are unable to attend\, we ask that you let us know this a
 s soon as possible.\n\nVisits are free of charge but cancellations receive
 d less than three working days before the event will be charged a £15 can
 cellation fee. In the event of a last minute cancellation or ‘no-show’
  on the day\, £25 will be charged.
