SUMMARY:Managing student behaviour in the 21st century – understanding\,
liaison and library strategy [Event Ref. No. TG4/MSB]
DESCRIPTION:In the Library\, in between studying\, students may be tweeting
\, drinking coffee and chatting to their friends. This workshop day will
examine whether Libraries still need to set boundaries for student behavio
ur in order to keep the library an appropriate place for learning without
looking out of touch with the demands placed on the students of the 21st c
entury?\n\nIn the morning session Ash Charlton from Ace Training will enco
urage us to better understand student behaviour\, to see where students ar
e coming from and appreciate the pressures that they are under. He will
involve attendees in setting a potentially negative scene positively and i
n dealing with difficult situations if they do arise. There will also be t
he opportunity to look at some short case studies and share good practice
with colleagues. \n\nIn the afternoon there will be three short presentati
