DESCRIPTION:Twitter – #cpd25MARK\n\nAre you looking for new ways to engag
 e with your users? Come and join our session as we explore ways to interac
 t with library users\, be that face to face or through your virtual librar
 y services.\n\nYou can hear from a variety of speakers talk about their di
 fferent viewpoints on this topic. We will explore new ways of looking at t
 he services that libraries could provide online by examining the way resea
 rchers engage with online resources. You will also hear about new communic
 ations and marketing projects which the speakers are engaged in.  You wil
 l also get a detailed talk on how best to utilise social media and the str
 engths/weaknesses of each format. You can also brush up on your skills on 
 dealing with face to face communication.\n\nAimed at staff who are trying 
 to juggle all the new forms of technology with limited time and even more 
 limited budgets\, who are curious about the new services they could provid
 e\, who are trying to keen to expand the reach of the library beyond its 4

 \n\n1030-1130 - Miki Lentin - Head of Corporate Affairs\, British Library\
 n\nMiki is currently Head of Corporate Affairs at the British Library.  R
 eporting to the Chief Executive his responsibilities include communication
 s including media relations and crisis communications\, advocacy\, fundrai
 sing\, the Knowledge Quarter\, strategy development and PLR.  Miki joined
  the Library as Head of Media Relations in 2009 and was made Head of Commu
 nications in 2011.\n\nMiki’s experience is predominantly within the priv
 ate sector.  Prior to the Library\, Miki was Director of Consumer PR at B
 urson-Marsteller UK.  Whilst there he was client lead on brands such as M
 inute Maid\, Powerade\, Sony Ericsson\, the Royal Institution and the Brit
 ish Library.  Miki’s PR experience also includes time at Ketchum\, BSMG
  Worldwide and Laura Sandys Associates in previous positions.\n\nA history
  graduate (MA Hons) from Edinburgh University (1992-96)\, Miki’s career 
 has been diverse and includes running a café and catering company for a f
 ew years and travelling the world numerous times.  He has also built his 
 own home together with his wife and his interests include playing tennis\,
  cooking and most importantly spending time with his wife and two wonderfu

 130-1200 - David White - Head of Technology Enhanced Learning\, Universit
 y of the Arts London\n\nHis is best-known/most-used idea is a way of under
 standing individuals motivations to engage online: “Visitors and Residen
 ts”. David thinks of the digital as much more than a set of tools or a c
 haotic library\, it’s a place where we can learn and live. He is current
 ly working on evolving the V&amp\;R mapping process with the Carnegie Mell
 on University and Gallway University so it can be used to gain a picture o
 f a group or organisation’s digital engagement. \n\nDavid has worked in
  various roles where digital\, learning and culture meet – including: Se
 nior lecturer in visual communication\, leading projects  for delivering 
 media online at the BBC\, Managing a team of online distance learning deve
 lopers at the University of Oxford and leading numerous studies around the
  impact of the Web on learning and higher education.\n\nHe helps to run th
 e ‘Centre for Learning and Teaching in Art‘ group. He has also present

 opment\, British Library\n\nLiz joined the British Library in 2013 as Head
  of Strategy Development\, where she supported the Chief Executive to deve
 lop the Living Knowledge vision\, published in January 2015.\n\nPrior to t
 his current role\, Liz spent more than a decade at the Home Office where s
 he worked on a wide range of policy issues and advised Ministers and Board
  members on strategy\, systems and culture change. As a civil servant\, Li
 z gained experience of influencing across the public sector and developed 
 a significant track record in staff development and leadership.\n\nLiz has
  a MBA from Imperial College London and MA in English Literature from Durh

 ibrary\n\nNeil is a manager in the Business &amp\; IP Centre at the Britis
 h Library where he leads a team of business and intellectual property refe
 rence specialists. The Centre provides information and advice to inventors
 \, business start-ups and entrepreneurs.\n\nNeil is a SFEDI accredited bus
 iness advisor\, and runs weekly advice clinics. Since 2014 he has been run
 ning a popular monthly workshop and webinar Introducing Social Media for S

 ritish Library Neil spent 16 years working in the City of London for an in

 ership and Liaison\, Kings College London\n\nPete has worked for the Libra
 ry Services at Manchester University Library for 14 years and has been wor
 king at King’s College London for the past 3 years.  He has worked in v
 arious departments of academic libraries including Customer Services\, Col
 lection Development\, Special Collections and Partnership &amp\; Liaison. 
 His current role is Library Liaison Manager\, 70% of his role involves Pro
 motion &amp\; Engagement work for all of King’s Library Services.\n\nOve
 r the past 2 years Pete has been engaging with King’s Library customers 
 through marketing campaigns (physical/online/videos and animations) and va
 rious feedback initiatives (including Out &amp\; About and Library Champio
 ns). Collaborating with internal university departments and external compa
 nies to help deliver excellent customer service and increase the positive
