 s half day session will provide an introduction to mentoring\, including b
 est practice and tips on undertaking effective mentoring conversations\, 
 an opportunity to hear from a seasoned mentor about their experience\, and
  an overview of M25’s own Mentoring Scheme. This event is primarily aime
 d at staff from M25 member institutions who are considering taking on a me
 ntoring role\, particularly through the M25 Mentoring Scheme\, but will be

 scussion\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nSpeaker biographies:\n\nMargaret Bentley has worke
 d in the field of Learning and Development for over 20 years\, mainly in t
 he Higher Education and Charity sector.  In her current role\, she is res
 ponsible for leading a team delivering a wide range of targeted and innova
 tive learning and development opportunities for all staff and research deg
 ree students from manager and leadership development and EDI to digital sk
 ills and mentoring.   She developed and rolled out the mentoring program
 me at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.\n\nSteve Bowman 
 is the ‘Medical School Librarian and TEL Lead’ at University Hospitals
  Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. A Fellow of CILIP and a Senior Fellow of the
  Higher Education Academy\, he has an MA in Information Management\, and a
 n MSc in E-Learning. He has worked in the ‘Information Services’ secto
 r since 1982 in Further Education\, Higher Education\, and NHS senior role
 s. The transition from working in HE for 20 years\, to working in the NHS 
 during the pandemic has only increased his enthusiasm for the role of the 
 Information Professional in these ‘interesting times’. His passions in
 clude the history of the book\, film and cinema\, and Prog Rock!\n\nAndrew
  Preater (pronouns: he/him) is Director of Library Services at Goldsmiths
 \, University of London. Andrew joined Goldsmiths in 2023 and provides lea
 dership and strategic direction for the Library.\n\nPrior to this\, his ex
 perience in higher education included posts at University of West London\,
  Imperial College London\; Senate House\, University of London\; and the U
 niversity of Durham where he began his career working in library systems.\
 n\nAndrew’s professional interests include the role of academic librarie
 s in equity and widening participation\, working-class experiences of high
 er education and libraries\, and the application of critical librarianship
  to library leadership. He is an Executive Board member and Trustee of SCO
 NUL\, and a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.\n\nCost:\n\n
