DESCRIPTION:Cpd25 is delighted to offer this original opportunity to staff 
 already in a management role. This programme of three full-day sessions is
  aimed at managers with some experience\, who are looking to develop their
  skills with a view to moving into a more senior role.\n\nThe sessions wil
 l address current and future challenges within Higher Education and will i
 nclude:\n\n* Defining the difference between leadership and management\n\n
 * Cultivating a strategic approach though exploring a leadership toolkit\n
 \n* Developing skills\, self-confidence and resilience to help us to thriv
 e in challenging situations\n\n* Exploring future career possibilities\, i
 ncluding how to maintain our personal and professional development\n\n* Ex
 changing ideas and experience in a supportive and confidential environment
 \n\nThe sessions will be facilitated by Jackie Kernaghan\, a freelance Dev
 elopment Consultant focusing on leadership and management development\, me
 diation and research and analysis of HR issues. Jackie brings 10 years exp
 erience in the HE sector in staff development roles with a primary focus o
 n supporting managers to enhance team performance and manage change. The p
 rogramme will incorporate practical exercises and case studies to help par
 ticipants to translate their learning into practical action. Each session 
 will also include a guest speaker who will develop and explore the theme o
 f the day as well as sharing their own experience.\n\nThe three sessions a

 ormance and potential\; Case study and discussion\n\n• Achieving results
  through others\; Practical work on improving our visibility and influenci
 ng others\n\n• Making it happen\; Guest speaker: Matthew Lawson\, Assist
 ant Director\, Library Services\,\nMiddlesex University \n\n• Looking to
  the future: Maintaining our skills and self confidence\; Finding sources 
 of personal and professional development\n\n• What next? Action planning
