DESCRIPTION:If you have never managed staff before it can seem overwhelming
 . How do you set workloads\, delegate effectively\, motivate staff and mon
 itor work\, just for starters? And how do you delegate effectively and emp
 ower staff? New managers need a framework to work within. We clarify what 
 is/is not your responsibility\, and provide guidelines for empowering supp
 ort/supervision sessions give this framework. We look at delivering feedba
 ck and delegating within this for maximum staff empowerment.\n\nProgramme:

  setting up supervision\n\nThis session provides the basic framework for n
 ew managers. After a round of introductions\, we clarify managerial and wo
 rker responsibilities and discuss the their implications. We then consider
  regular support/supervision sessions as the most effective way to deliver
  your side of the bargain\, and look at how best to organise these. Finall
 y\, we look at how to introduce this way of working into your existing wor
 kplace\, especially if you are establishing yourself as a new manager.\n\n

 owering each delegation stage\n 	Principles of empowerment\n\nThis session
  develops skills to use within the suggested framework. We start with how 
 to make criticism constructive and useful\, then look at how to do the sam
 e with praise and appreciation\, including the empowering approach of ‘f
 inding virtue’. This is developed in a discussion of what can go wrong i
 n the 4 stages of delegation\, and how to do each of these in as empowerin
 g a way as possible. The session ends with a general discussion of how to 
 empower staff and teams.\n\nInformation for joining:\n\n 	This session is
