 rogramme consists of three\, one-day workshops and has been specifically d
 esigned for staff in academic libraries and information services who have 
 some limited experience of managing or supervising staff. This course is a
 lso suitable for those new to a management role or with experience and wan
 ting to refresh their skills. The three sessions are linked and previous p
 articipants found this approach to be particularly helpful\, allowing issu
 es and questions raised during one session to be covered in subsequent wor
 kshops.\nThe sessions are intended to be practical. Participants will be e
 ncouraged to share ideas and approaches to identify individual service act
 ion plans\, which can be implemented on their return to work. Participants
  must be able to attend all three sessions and be prepared to carry out sh
 ort practical assignments between the sessions.\n\nOverall objectives\n•

 ing staff in the context of change\n• To give practical help in achievin
 g results through others\, management skills and styles\, managing effecti
