DESCRIPTION:cpd25 – Online Reading Lists\nSenate House Library\nThursday 
 April 27th 2006\n1.30 – 5pm\n\nChampioned as a means of facilitating gre
 ater access to print and electronic collections for students\, and also as
  a crucial administrative tool for library collection development\, online
  reading list systems seem an obvious service for academic libraries to be
  offering. So much so\, that many HE and FE institutions have already begu
 n to implement services using a range of softwares. However\, introducing 
 and expanding an online reading list service within an institution poses m
 any challenges. This event will give an overview of a variety of approache
 s to implementing and\, importantly\, maintaining an online reading list s
 ervice.\n\nThis event will be of interest to information professionals\, s
 ubject librarians and any one involved in taught course support.\n\nProgra

 n\, University of Sheffield\n\nLyn will talk about developments at Sheffie
 ld on the use of TalisList\, and how they are integrating electronic offpr
 ints and information skills into the online reading lists.\n\n2.50-3.30 Vo
 nny Bee\, Teaching Support Services Librarian\,\nLSE\n\nVonny will talk ab
 out the development of the LSE’s own reading list software and explain h
 ow the service has been implemented within the institution.\n\n3.30-4.00 T
 ea and Coffee\n\n4.00-4.40 June Hedges\, Co-ordinator\, Teaching &amp\; Le
 arning Support\nSection\, UCL Library Services\n\nJune will describe UCL
 ’s implementation of the Loughborough Online Reading List System\, how t
 he service has developed and the role of the reading lists in the newly la
 unched Digital Course Reading Service.\n\nBooking Info:\n\nCost is £25 fo
