 INGS WILL BE ADDED TO A WAITING LIST*\n\nLibrary inductions are an importa
 nt part of welcoming students to the university and introducing them to th
 e ways in which the library service can support their learning. New techno
 logies have enabled innovative approaches to the induction process\, allow
 ing for greater interaction between students\, library staff and the libra
 ry itself. With the pandemic affecting our possibilities of seeing student
 s face to face we have had to adapt and change Library inductions.\n\nDeci
 ding on the best approach to library inductions and ensuring it is engagin
 g and interesting for students is a continual struggle\, particularly give
 n constraints on time and budgets and the current hybrid environment .\n\n
 This event seeks to look at what a number of institutions have done to ada
 pt\, change and develop their Library inductions and what is planned for t
 his Autumn.  Aimed primarily at those delivering library inductions\, it 
 will offer a space to share experiences and learn from peers with a number

 hies:\n\nDavid Bedford is an Academic Support Librarian at the Drill Hall
  Library\, supporting health and related subjects for 3 universities that 
 share one campus and one library. His particular interests include the eva
 luation of information and how library anxiety can be addressed.\n\nLesley
  Gould is the Head of Academic Liaison and Teaching and Deputy Head of Lib
 rary and Learning Resources at LSBU. She is passionate about teaching and 
 learning as part of an integrated student support offer and is particularl
 y interested in the concept of the student journey. She has spent many yea
 rs working to promote closer cross-departmental collaborative working with
 in Higher Education institutions and has been with LSBU for the last 18 mo
 nths. Previous roles have spanned a wide range of information service prov
 ision and include a professional body’s information service\, a hospital
  library\, a stint at the British Library and HE roles within London Unive
 rsity\, the University of Kent and\, most recently at the Drill Hall Libra
 ry\, Universities at Medway.\n\nAmelia Hellyer has recently joined London 
 South Bank University as the Information Skills Manager\, where she leads 
 a team of librarians dedicated to the delivery of information literacy tea
 ching across the LSBU group. She is particularly experienced in using tech
 nology to create needs-based\, engaging and inclusive learning resources o
 r environments for diverse communities of users. She is also interested in
  utilising a range of library systems data and tools to showcase the impac
 t of libraries on the student journey\, successes and outcomes. She has pr
 eviously worked at the UCL School of Pharmacy and the Drill Hall Library\,
  Universities at Medway.\n\nAlex Wheller is the Subject Librarian for Chem
 istry and Sport Science at Manchester Metropolitan University. He complete
 d the distance learning Library and Information Services Managemen course 
 at the University of Sheffield in 2019. He was previously a History Teache
 r at a Sixth Form College. In his spare time\, he enjoys playing the Doubl
 e Bass and being a hands-on Dad with his 19 month-old daughter Elizabeth.\
 n\nSally Forrest is an Academic Librarian at the University of Derby. Her 
 current role involves providing support for staff\, students and researche
 rs in the College of Science and Engineering particularly in the areas of 
 Engineering\, Computing and Built Environment and also for the School of A
 rts which is part of the wider College of Arts\, Humanities and Education.
   She has worked at the University of Derby for many years and is particu
 larly interested in supporting students with developing their information 
 skills through workshops and teaching sessions.\n\nHazel Glasse is an Acad
 emic Librarian at the University of Derby. Her current role involves provi
 ding support for staff\, students and researchers in the College of Scienc
 e and Engineering and the Access and Further Education Centre. Having obta
 ined CILIP Chartership last June she is now working towards HEA. Professio
 nally\, Hazel’s interests include gamification in HE libraries and how i
 t can be used to develop students’ information literacy skills.\n\nAnton
 y Groves works at the University of Sussex Library as a Learning &amp\; Te
 aching Librarian within the Academic Services team. In this role he delive
 rs training to undergraduates and taught postgraduates across all schools 
 of study\; develops online support through various channels\; and manages 
 the Library chat service. Antony chairs the Library’s Teaching Strateg
 y Group and is a member of their UX and Discovery groups\, working to ensu
 re that resources are as easy to find and use as possible. Antony is a co
 mmittee member of CILIPs MmIT Group and holds PGCertHE &amp\; FHEA accredi
 tations. He has written about emerging areas of practice in his work for a
  range of journals\, blogs and conferences.\n\nTheresa Thurston works at t
 he University of Kent as Divisional Library Liaison Manager with her job s
 hare partner Karen Goodwin and is responsible for ensuring that collection
 s reflect the needs of the academic divisions and that users are empowered
  to make the most of the collections.  She has worked at the University o
 f Kent for 7 years in various roles in academic liaison and collection man
 agement and prior to this was Systems Librarian at the Law Society.\n\nCos
