 m.\ncpd25′s programme of nine two-hour workshops is devised primarily t
 o support CILIP Chartership and ACLIP candidates. However\, many of the ev
 ents in the programme are highly relevant to staff working as Library Assi
 stants\, Senior Library Assistants and so on. The events are aimed\, there
 fore\, at all levels of library staff – who may or may not be seeking Ce
 rtification or Chartership\, but who wish to further their professional sk
 ills and development.\nPlaces are available on either the whole series (£
 200 for cpd25 members\, £300 for external organisations) or for individua
 l workshops (£50 for cpd25 members\, £75 otherwise).\n\nAims and Objecti
 ves: Using copyright material legally even for educational purposes can be
  complicated. For example\, permission or a licence is always required whe
 n sharing copyright material with multiple users\, and further permission 
 is required for dissemination via electronic means – e-mail\, u-Link\, i
 ntranets.\n\nThis session aims to break down the myths surrounding the use
  of copyright content for educational purposes and outline permitted uses 
 of copyright material in relation to both the analogue and digital environ
 ments.\n\nThrough a presentation and interactive scenario-based session\, 
 participants will:\n\n• develop an understanding of the principles of co
 pyright and statutory exceptions for educational purposes and private rese
 arch/study\n\n• gain knowledge information on permitted uses of copyrigh
 t material by staff and students under educational copyright licensing\n\n
 • develop an awareness of the complexity of managing copyright in a digi
 tal environment and individual and institutional liability for copyright i
 nfringement\n\nParticipants will also have the opportunity to pose questio
 ns on copyright issues in general and receive guidance on best practice an
 d are encouraged to bring questions based on real life issues for discussi
