SUMMARY:Roving Visit to Roehampton [Event Ref. No. TG5V/ROV]
DESCRIPTION:Roving has been adopted by an increasing number of academic lib
 raries in the UK.  It has been used by libraries as providing help and ass
 istance at the point of use for the user. It also aims to support the hidd
 en user or customer who may be reluctant to approach a helpdesk. By &lsquo
 \;walking the floor&rsquo\; the librarian or rover is not tied to one stat
 ic desk and can help users in a variety of settings.\nAt Roehampton Univer
 sity roving has been in place since 2008. On this visit they will explain 
 who roves\, when they rove\, how they are identified and the use of techno
 logy by rovers. This visit is useful for those either considering introduc
 ing roving or making changes to their current service.\nSee http://www.roe

  ten minutes before the tour is due to start. The tour will be given by Fa
