DESCRIPTION:CPD 25 Senior Managers Skills Workshop Programme 2005\n1st\, 15
 th February & 2nd\, 17th March\nKing's College London\nMaughan Library\n9.
 45am to 4.30pm\n\nCPD25 Senior Managers Skills Workshop is specifically de
 signed for the needs of today’s experienced but busy senior library mana
 gers.\n\nThis innovative programme consists of four one-day workshops but 
 it is not necessary to attend all of them. We are offering a ‘pick and m
 ix’ approach so that participants can attend just one seminar\, or any t
 wo seminars\, or any three seminars\, or all four. There is a discount for
  booking all four seminars.\n\nThese seminars are suitable for those alrea
 dy working at senior library management levels or those with at least five
  years of middle management experience with aspirations to go further.\n\n
 The sessions are intended to be practical. Participants will be encouraged
  to share ideas and approaches to identify individual service action plans
 \, which can be implemented on their return to work.\n\nOverall Objectives
 \n\n      To provide a high quality series of seminars that reflects the s
 pecific needs of senior library managers within higher education\n\n      
 To help participants to identify the key elements of managing and supporti
 ng staff in the context of change\n\n      To give practical help in achie
 ving results through effective strategic management and decision-making pr
 ocesses.\n\n      To enhance the political skills necessary for making an 
 impact upwards\, sideways and downwards.\n\n      To explore the deeper pr
 oblems of managing performance in the light of legal considerations\, and 
 without neglecting our own needs.\n\n      To allow an exchange of ideas a

 y for CPD25 subscribers. This includes lunch and refreshments. There is a 
 discount of £50 for those booking for all four seminars.\n\nPlease note t
 hat there are only 15 places available for each event\, which will be allo
 cated on a first-come-first-served basis. Bookings will close on the 7th J
 anuary 2004 and any cancellations after that date will incur a 50% cancell
 ation fee.
