SUMMARY:Visit to the Town House at Kingston University [TG3v/Kingston]
DESCRIPTION:\n\nAn opportunity to visit the multi award winning Town House 
 building at Kingston University. Designed by RIBA Gold Medal-winning Graft
 on Architects\, the landmark building on Kingston University’s Penrhyn R
 oad campus received the highest accolade in UK architecture winning the RI
 BA Stirling Prize in 2021. RIBA jury chair Lord Foster said:\n\n"Kingston 
 University's Town House is a theatre for life – a warehouse of ideas. It
  seamlessly brings together student and town communities\, creating a prog
 ressive new model for higher education\, well deserving of international a
 cclaim and attention\," he said. "In this highly original work of architec
 ture\, quiet reading\, loud performance\, research and learning\, can deli
 ghtfully co-exist. That is no mean feat. Education must be our future – 
 and this must be the future of education."\n\n\n\nIt then went on to win t
 he European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe 
 Award in 2022. The highest accolade in European architecture. The jury pra
 ised its remarkable environmental quality for creating an excellent atmosp
 here for studying\, gathering\, dancing and being together.\n\nThe tour wi
 ll show you round the library\, reading gardens. We are hoping that we wil
 l also be able to show you the dance studios and performance spaces. Do co

  Cancellations received less than three working days before the event will
  be charged a £15 cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on th
 e day\, £25 will be charged.
