DESCRIPTION:*UPDATE*\n\nDue to unforeseen circumstances\, this event has no
 w been postponed until the autumn \n\nMentoring makes use of the huge amou
 nt of knowledge and skill that we all have within our own organisations at
  every level\, it can involve as many members of staff as you want. It off
 ers an inclusive solution to many staff development requirements and provi
 des value to both mentor and mentee. At a time when Library staff developm
 ent budgets are seeing real time reductions\, but the needs of staff remai
 n ever pressing\, mentoring offers a real alternative means of meeting tho
 se needs.\n\nThrough a mixture of fascinating case studies\, informed trai
 ning and opportunities to work through sample exercises\, this day will pr
 ovide attendees with an understanding of the mechanics of mentoring and of
 fers ideas so to how it could work for you.\n\nPrimarily aimed at those st
 aff development co-ordinators and line managers\, this course would also b
 e of interest to individuals who would just like to better understand the 
 principles of mentoring and to determine whether it is likely to be a suit

 e\, will talk about her experiences in establishing the programme and her 
 responsibilities for its continued co-ordination. Cecilia’s knowledge\, 
 commitment and interest in this area is obvious to all who hear her speak 
 and we are delighted that she is able to join us for the whole day to shar

 allenges and successes in setting up a mentoring scheme. She will cover al
 l aspects\, including an explanation of the paperwork and the actual proce
 ss. Penny’s hard work\, expertise\, and understanding is very much value
 d and has helped to develop and support knowledge sharing in the instituti

 narios to get a better understanding of the mentor relationship and how to
