DESCRIPTION:This half-day event considers how to get high rankings for web 
 pages and how to extend a web presence using social media.  Some practical
  exercises on evaluating web content will be included.  The event is aimed
  at anyone who contributes content to their library’s or organisation’
 s website.  Please note that this is not a technical writing course.\n\nTh
 e speaker\, Karen Blakeman\, has worked in the information profession for 
 over twenty years and has been a freelance consultant since 1989. Her comp
 any (RBA Information Services) provides training and consultancy on the us
 e of the Internet\, and on accessing and managing information resources.\n

  \n\n2.30pm:  Design of a webpage - how design helps or hinders viewers \n
