 tium’s 2022 virtual conference will take place on Wednesday 11th May. T
 he conference will be held virtually on Zoom.\n\nThe theme this year is 
 “All things being equal: the regional contribution of libraries” and w
 ill seek to explore community engagement and widening participation initia
 tives in M25 libraries. What does the civic agenda mean for academic libra
 ries and how can libraries work with the community to address regional iss
 ues? What is ‘levelling up’ and what does this mean for our workforce?
  How are widening participation agendas impacting library staff\, strateg
 y\, services and users? How do we work with other sectors effectively? \n

  and hear how\, over the last decade\, OCLC has joined a number of nationa
 l libraries and library organizations in publishing linked data. With the 
 explosion of different efforts and initiatives\, attention now turns to th
 e ways in which the metadata can be maintained sustainably and in such a w
 ay to enable increased value while decreasing efforts. In January 2020\, O
 CLC received a 2-year grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to create
  a shared "entity management infrastructure" providing a platform to suppo
 rt linked data initiatives throughout the library community.\n\nIn this se
 ssion\, we'll discuss the initiative\, its progress\, and what it suggests
  for the future of metadata work in libraries\, along with what this might
  mean in the context of the new agreement signed between OCLC and Jisc whi
 ch provides an enhanced ability to share and reuse bibliographic metadata
