DESCRIPTION:[B]cpd25 Visit to Tate Britain\n15th and 28th June 2007\nwww.ta
 te.org.uk/research/researchservices/researchcentre/ [/B]\n\ncpd25 are plea
 se to offer a chance to explore Tate's Archive and Library collections at 
 the Hyman Kreitman Research Centre\, Tate Britain. \n\nWe will be given an
  overview of the service\, followed by a tour\, and then the opporuntiy fo
 r questions and answers. The galleries are open until 5.50\, and people ar
 e welcome to stay and look at these. Alternatively\, there is the opportun
 ity to take the boat from the Tate towards central London to the Tate Mode
 rn\, details of which are copied below.\n\nThe Tate Archive is the nationa
 l archive of British art since 1900.  An unparalleled collection of unpubl
 ished and semi-published documents about fine artists in all media\, it in
 cludes manuscripts\, correspondence\, diaries\, sketchbooks\, photographs\
 , printed ephemera\, posters\, film and sound recordings.  Art world figur
 es such as critics\, commercial galleries\, dealers\, societies and instit
 utions are also covered.  The Gallery Records section of the Archive holds
  documents relating to Tate's own history.\n\nTate Library collects publis
 hed material on British fine art from 1500 and on international fine art f
 rom 1900.  The collection comprises a quarter of a million volumes\, with 
 2\,000 journal titles and 150\,00 exhibition catalogues from galleries and
  museums worldwide.\n\nThe reading rooms opened in 2002 as part of a Resea
 rch Centre development funded by a £2.2m donation from the Kreitman Found
