 BLE*\n\nJoin expert staff for a tour of the Linnean Society of London\, th
 e world’s oldest learned society devoted to biology and natural history\
 , and the birthplace of the theory of evolution. As you explore the Societ
 y’s magnificent premises at Burlington House in the heart of Mayfair\, y
 ou will learn about the history of this remarkable institution and the cou
 ntless treasures it holds.\n\nThe tour will include a visit to the Society
 ’s bombproof collections store\, where the priceless book\, archive and 
 biological specimen collections of the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus ar
 e housed in environmentally controlled conditions beneath the teeming shop
 pers of Piccadilly.\n\nOne of the most important venues in the history of 
 science\, a tour of the Linnean Society offers a glimpse of one of London
 ’s true treasures.\n\n \n\n\nLocation: The Linnean Society of London\,

 lly speaking\, all areas of the tour are accessible by lift\, save a sing
 le-large step to the Collections Store. Further information about accessi

 ccessibility\n\nSeating is provided at the beginning and end of the tour\,
  but the bulk of the visit (c.45 minutes out of the 1.5 hours) takes place
  in the Collections Store\, which involves standing up. We have two artist
 -style folding stools for those less-able to stand for long periods.\n\n&n
 bsp\;\n\n\nBookings for visits are free of charge but are open to members 
 of the M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries only.\n\n*THIS VISIT IS NOW FU

 please use our online booking form for M25 Members and enter 'n/a' in the 
 purchase order field.\n\nIf subsequent to booking a place on a cpd25 visit
  you find that you are unable to attend\, we ask that you let us know thi
 s as soon as possible.\n\nCancellations received less than three working d
 ays before the event will be charged a £15 cancellation fee. In the event
  of a ‘no-show’ on the day\, £25 will be charged.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nPleas
 e note that advance booking is required. If you have not received a bookin
 g confirmation email\, you won't be included on the registration list and
