  [TG4v/LSHTM]
DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;\nThe London School of Hygiene &amp\; Tropical Medicine 
 is renowned for its research\, postgraduate studies and continuing educati
 on in public and global health. LSHTM has an international presence and co
 llaborative ethos\, and is uniquely placed to help shape health policy and
  translate research findings into tangible impact. It has 3\,000 staff con
 ducting research in over 100 countries\, and more than 4\,000 students —
  all working with a collective purpose to improve health worldwide. Founde
 d in 1899 at the London Docks\, LSHTM is now based in Bloomsbury\, where 
 it has two main sites at Keppel Street and Tavistock Place\, and addition
 al sites in The Gambia and Uganda.\nThe primary role of Library\, Archive 
 &amp\; Open Research Services (LAORS) is to support LSHTM in its mission t
 o improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide\, working in pa
 rtnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research\, edu
 cation and translation of knowledge into policy and practice. LAORS seeks 
 to provide excellent information-related services\, resources and support 
 to LSHTM’s staff and students\, and to contribute to a creative and supp
 ortive working environment in line with LSHTM’s values. LAORS also welc
 omes external researchers and visitors who wish to consult its specialist 
 collections.\nThis visit will begin with a brief overview of Library\, Arc
 hive &amp\; Open Research Services at LSHTM\, followed by a tour of the Ke
 ppel Street building focusing on the history of the organisation and the b
 uilding itself. There will also be a chance to explore some of the rare bo
 oks and archives held in the collections.\nBookings for visits are open to
  members of the M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries only. \n\nTo reserve

  free to attend\, a PO number is not required – please enter ‘n/a’ i
 n the purchase order field on the booking form)\n\nIf subsequent to bookin
 g a place on a cpd25 visit you find that you are unable to attend\, we as
 k that you let us know this as soon as possible.\n\nVisits are free of cha
 rge but cancellations received less than three working days before the eve
 nt will be charged a £15 cancellation fee. In the event of a last minute 
 cancellation or ‘no-show’ on the day\, £25 will be charged.
