DESCRIPTION:With long opening hours\, working patterns for library staff ha
 ve always tended to be different from the standard idea of a working week.
  Academic libraries see peaks and troughs in workload. This event looks at
  some of the working practices that are not the usual 9-5 and its impact o
 n staff and services.\n\nAnnualised Hours: Elizabeth Malone\, Kingston Uni
 versity \nElizabeth researched and implemented the Annualised Hours Scheme
  that has been running at Kingston University Library since May 2005. Alth
 ough no longer working directly with the scheme\, Elizabeth recently carri
 ed out a review of the scheme’s success.\n\nWorking with the mix: Caroli
 ne Lloyd\, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine \nCaroline looks
  at the practical side of managing a job share and the mixture of part tim
 e and full time hours.\n	\nJob sharing & making it work: Caroline Fletcher
 \, UCL Bartlett Built Environment Library \nCaroline has worked as part of
  a job share in 3 different posts and looks at the benefits of job sharing
  for staff and service and how to make sure it all works smoothly.\n\nProg
