This workshop is aimed at all levels of staff who may have to produce or amend an existing policy. It would also be of interest to those who are concerned with the practical aspects of collection management and development, rather than the theoretical.

12.20 – 13.30: Lunch
13.30 – 14.10: Nostalgia and renewal: collections and collaborations – Linda Newington, Winchester School of Art at the University of Southampton
14.10 – 14.50: Writing a Collection Development Policy – Libby Homer, University of East London
14.50 – 15.10: Tea break
15.10 – 15.50: Group Exercise – Thinking of your own collections, which aspects of today’s presentations would need to be included in a local collection development policy
15.50 – 16.00: Summing up and close.
