E-Resources Collection Management (Professional Qualifications Series) [Event Ref. No. TG1/QSMAY2]
cpd25’s programme of ten two-hour workshops is devised primarily to support CILIP Chartership and ACLIP candidates. However, many of the events in the programme are highly relevant to staff working as Library Assistants, Senior Library Assistants and so on. The events are aimed, therefore, at all levels of library staff – who may or may not be seeking Certification or Chartership, but who wish to further their professional skills and development.
Aim:
This workshop will focus on the fundamentals of e-resources collection development and management. The e-resources covered will include working examples from the UEL collections – e-books, Journals, Special collections, Digital Archives, Open access repositories and Databases.
Objective:
By the end of the session participants will have an overview of the e-resource strategies, policies and infrastructure that support the e-resource collections which form the core of a modern Academic Digital Library.
Programme outline:
This is an interactive workshop involving a presentation, group discussion and practical group work.
Places are available on either the whole series (£160 for cpd25 members, £240 for external organisations) or for individual workshops (£30 for cpd25 members, £50 otherwise).
