Following on the successful cpd25 seminar “E-books: Converting the Old, Selling the New”, this seminar provides an update to some of the issues raised last year. However, it will also look at some new aspects of the subject and will be useful to all Librarians working with E-books, and anyone with an interest in finding out more about this fast developing area.

1.40-2.25 Frances Boyle, Oxford Digital Library speaking about the Oxford-Google Digitisation Project

2.25-3.10 Carlos Gimeno, Taylor and Francis and responsible for
Online Sales
(Encyclopedias, Databases and eBooks) in UK & Rest of the World.
“The past, present and future of eBooks and the Taylor & Francis eBooks
programme.”

3.10-3.30 Coffee

3.30-4.15 Ian Rowlands, UCL.
“SuperBook: an action research study evaluating the usage and impact of e-
books on an academic community.”

4.15-5pm Liam Earney, Collections Team Manager, JISC Collections.
“Update on the
JISC E-books Working Group Vision and the JISC national e-book observatory
project.”

Cost is £50 for cpd25 members and £75 for other institutions, including refreshments.

Please note there are limited places available for this event. Cancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ the full fee will be charged.
