This workshop will discuss and explain the fundamentals of e-resources collection development and management. The presentations will focus on electronic collection types that are central elements of digital libraries today and also viewed as areas of growth for the future. Presentations will be given by Librarians and Information Professionals experienced in these fields. This workshop will be of interest to library staff who are interested in working in eCollections Management, or who would like an introduction to the issues and opportunities in this area.
The eCollections Management Workshop will;
• Introduce the Key components creating a Digital Library
• Offer practical insight on the building of eCollections – Web Archives, eBooks, eJournals
• Build awareness of activities essential to support their development – Collating the stats
• Pass on guidance on good practice and available frameworks

1330–1340 – Welcome and Introduction
1340–1410 – Building a Digital Library; Understanding the key components
1410–1450 – Web Archives as a Library collection
1450–1510 – Break
1510-1540 – Using/Collating Stats – Arguing for more/getting your Return on Investment
1540–1610 – Successful Acquisition of eBook/eJournals
1610–1645 – Panels: Question and Answers
1700 – Close
