Introduction To Marketing within Academic Libraries (Professional Qualifications Series) [Event Ref. No. TG1/QSNOV]
Please note that this event is also advertised in the ‘Professional Qualifications Support Workshops’ section of our events calendar.
cpd25\’s programme of ten two-hour workshops is devised primarily to support CILIP Chartership and ACLIP candidates. However, many of the events in the programme are highly relevant to staff working as Library Assistants, Senior Library Assistants and so on. The events are aimed, therefore, at all levels of library staff – who may or may not be seeking Certification or Chartership, but who wish to further their professional skills and development.
Marketing your Library Services is becoming an increasingly important aspect of library work. At some point in your career you will asked to be involved in marketing part of your service, be it a new service development or just raising the profile of an underused service. The aim of this Introduction to Marketing workshop is to give participants an insight into key aspects of marketing within academic libraries. The workshop will be facilitated by Coral Black from Royal Holloway College, University of London and Angus Brown from Imperial College who will provide a brief overview of marketing theory along with a case study from Imperial College that the group will be able to discuss. The session will be interactive with participants working in small groups on specific marketing plans.
Places are available on the whole series (£150 for cpd25 members, £200 for external organisations) or individual events (£28 for cpd25 members, £48 otherwise).
Venue: The Hardy Room, The London Mathematical Society, De Morgan House, 57-58 Russell Square, London WC1B 4HS
