Keep Calm and Carry On [Event Ref. No. TG4/KCCO]
This event is the fourth annual cpd25 event designed for those who supervise staff, services or both.
The audience: Senior Library Assistants, Information Services Supervisors, Library Assistants, Information Assistants (or their equivalent) in Higher Education institutions.
Following on from the previous successful events, the main aim and objectives are:
Aim:
To explore ways for staff to keep an optimistic outlook and proactive attitude in difficult economic times
Objectives:
* To explore the student perspective in higher education in 2011
* To exchange views and experiences on how different services (cope/)perform in difficult times
* To network with colleagues from other services and to visit another service
Programme:
13.30-14.00: Coffee and Registration
14.00-14.45: Keynote Speaker: Chris Dingle (Vice President Education, Kingston University Student Union), Introduction by Sue Clegg (University Librarian and Director of Learning Resources, Roehampton University)
14.45-15.45: Visit to one of the following academic libraries:
* SOAS
* School of Pharmacy
15.45-16.00: Tea, coffee & pastries
16.00-16.30: Breakout sessions
16.30-17.00: Reporting back and closing statements.
Sue Clegg will be chairing this event.
The breakout sessions will involve attendees working in small groups to discuss the following questions:
* How can you keep your team positive in negative times?
* How can you help your department save money?
The feedback from each group will be arranged so as to be quick, painless and efficient – in keeping with the tone of the event.

Cost: £125 for cpd25 members and £155 for other institutions.
Cancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, the full fee will be charged.
