Introducing the principles of metadata production, presenting case studies from within the Higher Education sector and outlining the wider Information Management perspective.

Speakers:
Pat Bell (HM Revenue and Customs) will provide an overview of metadata. Exploring what it is and the various schemas involved.

Julia Reid (Strategy and Architecture Unit, Chief Information Officer Group, Department for Children, Schools and Families) will present a case study of the Educational Evidence Portal.

Louise Doolan (Team Leader, Information Resources Management, Imperial College London Library) will discuss Federated Search: a Metalib case study.

Cost: £35 for cpd25 members and £50 for other institutions, including refreshments.
