This event is the third annual cpd25 one-day conference designed for delegates who supervise staff, services or both.

The Audience: Senior Library Assistants, Information Services Supervisors (or their equivalent) in Higher Education institutions.

Following on from two previous, highly successful events, the main objectives of the conference are:

• To provide a rare opportunity for networking

• To inform delegates of current and anticipated developments and challenges in the academic library world

• To provide a forum for debate and the sharing of good practice.

Programme:

9.30-10.00: Coffee and registration

10.00-10.30: Keynote Speaker: Deborah Shorley (Director of Library Services, Imperial College), introduction by Mary Nixon (Chair CPD25, Librarian, Goldsmiths, University of London)

10.30-10. 45: Coffee

10.45-12.30: Visits to one of the following:
Birkbeck, Kings College, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UCL Science Library

The particular themes will be:
• RFID and self-service
• Converged services (library/IT)
• Managing the learning environment
• Subject liaison

12.30-13.30: Lunch, with opportunities for networking

13.30-14.00: Breakout sessions 1

14.00-14.30: Plenary

15.00-15.15: Tea

15.15-15.45: Breakout sessions 2

15.45-16.15: Plenary

16.15-16.30: Reporting back and closing statements.

Cost: £110 for CPD25 members and £145 for other institutions.

Cancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, the full fee will be charged.
