This workshop offers the time and space to consider good practice when providing services for disabled library users.

A representative of CLAUD (Creating libraries accessible to users with disabilities) will provide an overview of good practice and a student will give her perspective on how librarians can provide services to people with dyslexia.

TechDis will also present on their facilities and delegates will leave with an overview of tools and services that are available to them in support of students with disabilities.

Programme:
9.30 – 10am: Registration with tea/coffee/biscuits

10.00: Graeme Barber and Teresa Pedroso from CLAUD will give an overview of good practice in relation to services for students with disabilities

10.45: A student’s voice – Helen Rose, a student with dyslexia, speaks of her experiences

[11.15 – 11.45am: Tea/coffee/biscuits]

11.30: Terry McAndrew, Advisor, JISC TechDis talks of services and tools available to us

12.15 Close.

Cost: £60 for members and £90 for other institutions.

Cancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, the full fee will be charged.
